"Northwest Passage" Leadership Training
Do you ever wonder?
- What is God's plan for me?
- Are my goals His goals?
- Where am I going?
- Am I on the right track?
- What is my purpose?
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Eph. 2:10)
What is a Christian Leader?
"A Christian leader is a person with a God-given capacity and a God-given responsibility, who is influencing a specific group of God's people toward God's purposes for the group." (J.R. Clinton)
What is Northwest Passage?
Northwest Passage is a leadership movement begun by The Pacific Northwest NAB Conference to raise leaders in their area of influence within the local church. The nine month program (September to May) is entitled "Emerging Leaders" and is split into four stages.
Stage 1: Biblical Foundations of Leadership explores biblical perspectives which reflect foundational lessons for a lifetime of service. This stage is a review of the role of scripture in the life of each participant. Participants will develop a biblical mandate.
Stage 2: Personal Foundations of Leadership explores critical events, circumstances and people in our lives that God has used to shape us. The end result of this stage is an in depth autobiography.
Stage 3: Relational Foundations of Leadership explores the critical role various types of mentoring plays in the life of a Christian leader. During this stage the participants will initiate a mentor relationship.
Stage 4 : Functional Foundations of Leadership explores three categorical functions related to the practice of leading. This stage focuses on team dynamics.
The group meets weekly for two hours. The preparation / study commitment is similar to a two hour college course. Participants should plan on a minimum of two hours study time per week.
